Thailand Miss Grand International (MGI) 2024, held in Bangkok, was unable to accept that the third prize (2nd runner-up) was won by Miss Thae Su Nyein, who represented Myanmar, and violated MGI’s rules and regulations and engaged in inappropriate behavior.

In the MGI pageant, Myanmar’s Miss Thae Su Nyein was able to enter the Top 5 and was shortlisted to the Top 3, but the first prize was won by Miss India, the second prize was won by Miss Philippines, and the third prize was won by Miss Thae Su Nyein.

Since Miss Thae Su Nyein won the third prize, fans who supported her said MGI’s competition was a bribe, and they were not ashamed. When Miss Thae Su Nyein came down from the stage, her teacher and National Director Htoo Aunt Lwin took away the third prize crown and sash from Thae Su Nyein. The video spread on Burmese and Thai social media.

The national director, Htoo Aunt Lwin, responded to social media that he would return the award because he could not accept that Miss Thae Su Nyein won the third prize. Thae Su Nyein also tried her best for the competition, and during the exercise, she was the only one of all the beauty queens who represented the country to have done her make-up and preparation, and it was not the same as the first time she tried.

In the Miss Grand International (MGI) 2024 pageant, Miss Thae Su Nyein won the third prize, which caused a huge stir on social media among supporters from both Myanmar and Thailand. Because of this popularity on social media, MGI founder Nawat told the media that if he wants to win the first prize, he will set up his own competition.

MGI Founder Nawat said, “I don’t know what this girl is delusional about. If you want to win first place in every competition, I would recommend you to compete yourself. That way, he will be able to win every match by himself,” he said, adding, “The organization can officially accept that the third place he got was unacceptable, and for that, MGI is both in Thae Su Nyein and “The relationship with the Miss Grand Myanmar organization has ended,” he added.

Many Myanmar fans gave the most support to Miss Thae Su Nyein, representing Myanmar at MGI 2024, but she disagreed with the pageant’s slogan “Stop The War and Violence” and was ignored by the war-torn Myanmar people. There are still criticisms that Miss Universe Myanmar Thu Zarwint Lwin and Miss Grand Myanmar Han Lay, who went to compete in the international pageant in 2021, opened up about the country’s situation and said that there are very different things from Thae Su Nyein.
