The MNDAA, one of the three (3) North Shan Brotherhood groups that are attacking the military council under the name of 1027 military operations, announced today on September 4, 2024, that they will no longer cooperate with the National Unity Government (NUG) and will no longer attack Mandalay and Taunggyi.
The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) captured the townships of Kut Khaing, Chinni, Chin Shwe Ha, Mong Ko, Lauk Kai, Khao Khao, and Phong Sai in the first part of the 1027 operation, and in the second part of the operation, they captured Lashio, the North Eastern Military Command (Ramakha).
After the fall of the Northeastern Military Command (Ramakha), the Military Council asked China to intervene and sent a threatening letter to the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), one of the three groups, to end the war. MNDAA also stated in a statement that it is ready for a ceasefire with China’s mediation.
The MNDAA statement said, “Not joining foreign communities opposed to China or Myanmar; not interacting Non-alignment is MNDAA’s political redline. Similarly, as MNDAA, NUG and military, political cooperation; expansion of battlefields; There will be absolutely no offensive attacks on Mandalay and the mountain. However, we will continue to uphold the right to self-defense,” it said.
MNDAA, which is Ninaung (3) under the name of 1027 operation in North Shan. In addition to the TNLA and AA leading the attack, the Burma Liberation Army (BPLA), Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF); People’s Liberation Army (PLA); Mandalay People’s Defense Force (MDY-PDF); 2023, in collaboration with PDF under NUG. On October 27th, they attacked the military council troops in northern Shan State.
As a result of the North Shan campaign, the military council troops were seriously injured and became a force for the revolutionary forces in places around the country. While the military council forces were losing strength, the revolutionary forces had an advantage in the wars in the central region. China’s intervention and the TNLA and MNDAA of the three brothers (3) are likely to open fire, and the AA army will work to liberate the entire Rakhine state, according to media interviews.
